Summary:
Greet and register patients.
Responsible for efficient processing of patients during the check-in and check-out process.
Performs clerical duties such as:
answer telephones, patient electronic scheduling, insurance verifications, forms and letters, and performing collection when appropriate.
Meets communication needs of patients, their families, providers and staff.
This position will also have some responsibilities in the Emergency Department.
Effectively provides Centered care and services.

Responsibilities:
Exhibit compassionate interaction with all patients, assisting them with their needs in a friendly, kind manner.
Answer telephone promptly using proper telephone etiquette.
Receive and distribute messages as needed.
Messages are well documented, clear, and accurate and include working call back numbers, reason for call, requesting medication, and correct provider.
Sends telephone encounters appropriately.
Demonstrate accurate operation of fax, fax inbox, scanning, copiers and printers.
Arrange appointments for patients according to providers' requirements.
Perform insurance verification checks every morning and with all walk-in patients; assure completion of waivers when necessary.
Register patients accurately obtain all mandatory information including Spelling of names, DOB, SSN, current address and validating it, current contact information, guarantor, insurance information, and correct subscriber.
Both EMR's (clinic and hospital) should match and be done at the time of registration.
Assure copays are accurate and financial sheet and payments are sent to the business office in a timely manner.
Initiate assistance needed at Front desk if patient presents with any distress.
Initiate emergency calls as directed by staff.
Requirements Education:
High School Graduate or equivalent, vocational school preferred.
Experience:
Registration and clerical experience preferred, but not required Licensure:
Must be able to cover other offices on short notice.
